Accounting and point-of-sale software that opens its data file over the network slows down as users and file size grow. Running it on an RDPlus server fixes that.
Every workstation reads the data file across the network. As users are added and the file grows — especially past about 100 MB — it slows down sharply, and network hiccups can corrupt the file.
With RDPlus, the application runs on the server right next to its data file. Users connect remotely and only see the screen, so the network no longer slows the database down.
In our testing with a 1 GB MYOB data file, a report ran around 12 times faster once MYOB and its data were on an RDPlus server, compared with running the app on each workstation over the network.
Fewer corruption issues. Some of our clients had ongoing data corruption with MYOB Retail Manager, which is very sensitive to network problems. After we migrated them to RDPlus, performance improved and the corruption issues stopped.
Retail Manager needs a special setup. Retail Manager doesn't natively run in a Remote Desktop environment, so it won't work on RDPlus out of the box. We migrate it for you as a separate setup service — contact us for setup pricing.
